"Nothing is as it seems. The encrypted information not only rules in the black boxes of the computer, but is also contained in the videos - barely visible from the outside - behind dark-tinted windows of the gallery.

For the Gallery Weekend in 2013, the artist Viola Kamp marked the thin glass membrane between the inside and the outside, between the public space and the art space, as she placed two targets on the gallery windows entitled "Golden Shot". With this minimal gesture at the hot spot Potsdamer Strasse, she had placed the gallery in the crosshairs, both as prey and as the center of attack.

Using the same title, she will continue to associate with this theme in her new video. The projection in the gallery space will show traffic along Potsdamer Strasse, while the street itself will act as a mirror image. Without a logical narrative, only by change of perspective, an atmosphere of both being observed and of being the observer is created, of entwined documentation and enactment, fiction versus reality.

The artist, as the protagonist, shines a light into the mysterious black box, but also at the same time her beam of light is pointed directly at the viewer. The monitoring optics are contrasted with surreal images and suggestive flashes, that are partially quoting an undefined art event below the threshold of perception. Whether as a threat or an aggressive desire, an intrusion or an escape, the video keeps the boundary between the inside and the outside as a surprising twist.“
