Global Loop

on-site

In 2000, the Global Loop project was a self-experiment in many respects – three months alone on the road across the continents and for the first time with digital equipment to test new artistic production and communication technologies. Between real experience and fictitious identities, between distanced observation and boundless invention, first an online travelogue was created, then the storyboard for a documentary fiction. The road story was continued after further trips, including to China, and was staged in several exhibitions until 2005. The observation of reality from a fictional perspective – as a spin-off of an alter ego – characterized the further artistic working method.
